Genuine Yamaha Neutral Switch for FZ1 2008

After a hard knock whilst on the track, the sub lead became damaged and caused a few issues with the bike. Obviously, with this lead damaged, it meant a lot of the electronics also failed so this needed replacing asap. I found the right part for this model by using Yamaha schematics and the Electrical 1 section. Pretty easy really. The cost that Webike had this for on site was far better value than I could source locally. The shipping method I choose is EMS as they just get the orders delivered fast. I get full tracking every step of the way too so I can gauge when the order will arrive with me. Anyway, the wire sub lead arrived and was well packaged. The Yamaha frosted packet it came in was well protected from any damage too. The sub lead is nothing really exciting to look at. It is literally a wire lead with a connector on each end. You cannot get the ends mixed up as there is a large rubberised cover on one end which goes on the bottom. All I can really say about he quality is, it worked perfectly so the quality is excellent. This bike had intermittent starting issues and it was discovered that the main ignition coil on number 2 cylinder was at fault. Not really a part you want to be swapping for a cheap after market one. On the safer side to just buy genuine Yamaha at this point. I was pleasantly surprised that this ignition coil was available to buy but luckily, Webike could order me one. The price was really good for a genuine ignition coil too. These do tend to be on the more expensive side anyway. I had this shipped fast using EMS and in as little as 5 days, my order arrived. The ignition coil came in the Yamaha packaging and was very well wrapped to keep it safe from any damage. Not really much you can see of the part that really matters but the resistance was within specifications and was how it was supposed to be. The quality of the outer is very good and there were no sharp edges on the ignition coil to catch you out on installing. The top rubber boot is flexible and slips on easy enough, just make sure to press home firmly. Not a hard job to fit but you need to make sure not to stress the connectors in any way or you might as well just buy another one. I found this out the hard way a long time ago. This bike came in for a service and to prepare for the annual MOT, the rear reflector was missing and had no doubt fallen off so this needed replacing. Finding the right one for this bike was not so difficult as I used the Yamaha schematics for this. After I found it I searched Webike and the part was available in the other warehouse. Not an issue as I did not mind waiting for it as we had time. Anyway, the order was placed along with a few other small parts. I used EMS and the order was delivered in a week. All the parts were well packaged and there was no damage. The reflector is the perfect shape for this model and keeps with the overall look. The reflector itself is well made and is very reflective when hit with a torch beam. Fitting was straight forward and this just bolts on with the rear threaded section with a nut. There were areas that were ok but did look a little tired for such a young bike. This bike did a lot of miles though and started to show badly. I did need a lot of parts for this XSR700 and to make is as it was when it rolled off the factory line, one was for the reflector brackets. Not really something I would replace but this is not my bike after all. I found the right brackets for this work pretty easily, this bracket is actually one of 2, Reflector bracket number 1. After finding the right parts I checked Webike and the price was really great value and far better than my local Yamaha dealer could beat or even match. I ordered at the same time reflector bracket number 1 too so they would both arrive at the same time. In just 5 days, EMS had my order delivered. All the parts were expertly packaged and the brackets were well wrapped. This reflector bracket 1, came in the standard Yamaha packaging wrapper. The quality is really great as you can see from the correct bends in the metal and the finish which is a lovely standard Yamaha satin black paint. This classic bike came in for a few small parts that needed changing due to age related issues. The owner wanted to keep the bike as genuine as possible. One of the parts that was a little bit old and not good looking was the rear flasher stay. The old one had lost all of the black glossy paint which it originally came with. Finding the right part number for this was easier than I expected it to be. With the help of Yamaha schematics I found what I was looking for. On checking Webike website, the part was actually available and in stock in the warehouse. Great news. The price was as expected and very reasonable. Shipping was low cost using EMS and the order arrived in 7 days. The stay unit came in a see through Yamaha packet and was also inside a bubble wrap envelope. No damage to any of it. The stay itself is a stunning part, the glossy black is super shiny and both the mount holes are perfect. Quality wise, I could not ask for anything better. I wanted to make this little bike more presentable and a lot of the consumable parts were looking old and in need of some tlc. One of the parts that was bothering me was the kick lever cover which was worn through and hanging off. Time for a new one. Not a hard part to find as this cover does fit a lot of Yamaha models from early 70's all the way through to the newer small kids bikes. Once I found the right part number, I checked Webike website and found a really good deal for it. With some other parts for this bike already in my basket, I got them all shipped together to save money on the shipping fees. In a matter of 7 days the order arrived. The cover lever was packaged really well, it came in the standard Yamaha packaging and inside a bubble wrap envelope too. The cover itself is a moulded rubber one that is well made. The moulding is accurate and there were no extra pieces of rubber hanging off which just shows the top quality of the genuine Yamaha part. Fitting is easy as it is literally a push on fit, a tiny bit of brake cleaner helped this to be put in situ easier. I had been looking to spruce up this Monkey when it came in with a genuine Honda Monkey emblem on the left panel of the bike. Yes, I could get them printed at a local store but why do that when you can get hold of the genuine Honda ones as cheap as this. Not a hard part to find once you know the size you need and a rough model of bike that this is for. This was the side panel emblem which did not need to be the exact same as the other side as I was also buying the right hand side anyway. Along with the right hand side decal and some other parts, all shipped together by EMS and delivered in 7 days. Everything in the package was packed neatly and securely and these were kept flat as you don't want bent emblems. They look super slick and crisp edges makes the world of difference. This genuine Honda Monkey emblem is a gorgeous black outer edge with accents of red to go with the bike's colour scheme, the inner is crisp white. It is a flat but slightly gel looking decal/emblem and all the colours are super clean too perfect. I have had some in the past for other bikes that look slightly grey on the black part but not these, perfect match for the bike colour scheme. Now this is on, the bike looks like a proper machine. This was a part that needed changing on the FZ1 bike that came in for a service. The air filter was pretty bad and very dirty which was only having a negative effect on the bike's running. The correct air filter was easy to find using the tools and help section on Webike pages. I also cross referenced with Yamaha schematics for my own peace of mind. The air filter was really good value and slightly cheaper than I could source locally at my nearest Yamaha parts dealer. I chose EMS for my courier as they just get my orders delivered fast. 5 days from shipping my order arrived. Everything in the order was extra well packed with bubble wrap for security. The air filter is not a massive one especially for such a bike but you do need it to fit as it should. The old one had gotten a little funny shaped and was not sitting right. This new one however, fits perfectly. The air filter came in the usual Yamaha packaging. Fitting is easy, the filter is not doing what it is supposed to do and the bike does sound better for it.
