Used in W650 It's air-cooled, so it's installed for oil temperature control The visibility is good, and it's convenient to check the oil temperature visually when you're touring or driving around with low GEAR in the middle of summer. I think air cooling is a must because if you overheat it, it's one shot out. I've heard that anything too cheap is unreliable, so I went with this product from ShopRecommendation.
Feels like a quality product. Fitted to my Kawasaki W800 without any problems however was a bit concerned about the clearance of the temp gauge to the gear. Seems to be okay though!Seems expensive for what it is. Still trying to get an idea of what is a normal temp range etc.View Detail
Installation is just replacing Oil Filler Cap, so it's nothing. I think it's about over-tightening. Not measuring the oil temperature but measuring the temperature inside the Crankcase, I can not say a word, is it good for measures against Overheat in summer? Daytona's dip stick is fine piece of engineering. It has a temperature gauge for checking engine oil temperature. I like the quality of product and its look when gauge is installed. I installed it the first time and the dial was not straight. It took me a little bit to figure out that the dial is held by a circlip and after using a circlip pliers I was able to rotate the dial in the correct position. It looks so much better than the stock black oil tank cover. As it is made of metal, it gets more hot than the original cover. Be careful not to touch it when you just came from a ride. I'm not sure the if temperature reading is accurate but its definitely consistent. Under hard riding it gets to 100-110 degrees. Moderate riding puts it just about below 100 degrees. It would have been better if there were clear markings on the stick so you can use them to establish normal oil levels for your bike.View Detail
